Located at The Meydan Hotel in Dubai, the East Asian bar was designed with a fusion between the Chinese and Japanese fundamentals. Showcasing the colourfully vibrant yet subtle cultural integration, the main feature of the SHIBA is the pink circular bar counter. Delicate Chinese and Japanese inspired tea cups hang over the pink onyx counter top which is complemented by artisan-designed Asian fabric panels that adorn the bar front. The teacups, some extravagantly tasseled, create a dramatic ring of colour encircling the central bar. On the ceiling, specially designed silkscreen prints adorn the circular panels which feature the time honoured Chinese and Japanese crane birds uniting the two separate cultures.
